Bohemian Island Customers Helping to End the Dog Meat Trade!
The dog meat trade in South East Asia sees tens of thousands of dogs transported out of Thailand and into neighboring countries every year.
They are cruelly, horrifically slaughtered. Often tortured first, in a practice that's believed to tenderize the meat, the dogs are lucky if they suffocate in the cramped cages before arriving.
The people of Thailand who know about this practice do condemn it, but public awareness isn’t high.
Soi Dog Foundation is doing all it can to aid the Thai Government in stopping this barbaric practice, and has already seen real results in the form of convoys of trucks being intercepted and arrests being made.
Very recently one of the largest dog meat operators in the region was raided and shut down. What was found there was truly gut-wrenching, but at least the suffering there has come to an end.
However, one aspect of the campaign that really needs advancement is bringing the awareness of the trade to the greater public.
Here's how you're making a direct difference
To this end, Soi Dog have begun erecting billboards explaining to locals what's actually going on, and is placing them in towns and on highways across Thailand, especially in the North where the dogs are smuggled over the border.
Public awareness is key, as we've already seen that these billboards have led to information being passed on which later led to arrests being made.
With thanks to our wonderful customers, Bohemian Island have just purchased 5 billboards to be erected, so thanks to YOU we are together helping to end the dog meat trade!
As you may know, 10% of proceeds from each one of our Thai harem pants goes to Soi Dog. We wouldn't be able to make gestures like this if it wasn't for your support, and we are truly grateful for it.
We couldn't do it without you
We’ve spoken before about the awesome work that Soi Dog do, and we love being able to make regular donations to them. Seeing the difference we can all help to bring about makes us happy and proud to be involved, and we urge you check out Soi Dog for yourself and see if there’s a way you can help too.
That doesn’t necessarily mean donating money. Like these billboards, just spreading the word is already making a huge difference to the dogs that need our help.
Please share this with your friends and family. Thank you.
