Charity Giveaway - Winners Announced!
We asked you to nominate your favorite non-profit organizations who you felt deserved to win a $300 donation this holiday period, and were quite blown away by how many emails we received! It was so difficult choosing just 7 winners that we also chose another 7 charities to receive a $50 donation.
Thanks to everyone who made a nomination. All the charities suggested do such incredible work and it was touching reading all your mails.
Here are the 7 lucky groups each receiving a $300 donation from Bohemian Island:
Sacred Valley Project - based in Ollantaytambo, Peru, the Sacred Valley Project is dedicated to improving access to education for young women from low-income families in remote, mountain communities of the Sacred Valley.
Cam Sight UK - based in Cambridgeshire, England, Cam Sight provides support for visually impaired people, their carers and families; employers and providers of public services.
Children International - Children International provides critical assistance to children and families struggling in terrible poverty. Their community centers provide resources, programs and services that allow them to reduce the burden of poverty on impoverished children and youth, invest in their potential and provide them with opportunities to grow up healthy, educated and prepared to succeed and contribute to society.
Art in Motion - AIM Inc. understands that an appreciation of the Arts is an integral part of the educational and social upbringing of any youth. This Paterson, New Jersey-based non-profit organization focuses on helping youth explore their passion for the arts.
New York Bully Crew - this not-for-profit rescue organization was founded in December 2010 and though based on Long Island, their outreach is US wide. They specialize in rescuing Pitbulls, however no animal in dire need of rescue is turned away.
Water is Life - WATERisLIFE’s mission is to provide clean water, sanitation and hygiene programs. Saving Lives. Transforming Communities. WiL provides clean drinking water, sanitation and hygiene education programs to schools and villages in desperate need.
Disabled American Veterans - DAV is the longest-lasting veterans advocacy and assistance group in the US. They are dedicated to a single purpose: empowering veterans to lead high-quality lives with respect and dignity.
In addition to these 7 winners, Bohemian Island will also donate $50 each to the following organizations: American Lab Rescue, Miami Dade Animal Services Shelter, Embody Love Movement, ALS Association, Justice Rescue, Maine Access Immigrant Network, Bayonne Feral Cat Foundation.
